In the Bardisanen neighbourhood in Stadshagen on Kungsholmen in Stockholm, construction of a new housing project is underway. Einar Mattsson is behind the construction of 145 well-designed rental apartments in an attractive location overlooking Karlbergssjön lake. The bathrooms come as prefabricated modules from Green Box.

The project is designed as three slender building structures that utilise the sloping terrain to create light, air and views between the houses. The form, colours and materials have been given much thought, and the colour palette is matched Kungsholmen’s character and the surrounding buildings, making the building blend naturally into the area.

The homes vary in size and have robust floor plans that allow for open, bright living areas. And here, prefabricated bathrooms are a natural fit: a focused solution that can be safely repeated from floor to floor, supporting tight logistics on a complex construction site.

Prefabrication creating on-site momentum

The 10 to12-storey building will contribute to a new urban silhouette on the western part of Kungsholmen. The project is expected to be completed in 2027, and future residents can look forward to bright, modern homes with balconies facing the water and overlooking Karlbergssjön lake and Karlberg Palace across the lake.
