Prefabricated bathrooms with architectural freedom

Green Box gives you as an architect great freedom to let the bathroom follow the lines of your project.

In Kaktustårnene in Copenhagen, for example, we have delivered 495 bathrooms in a specially developed trapezoidal shape, matching the rotating geometry of the buildings and contributing to a distinctive architectural look.

Our prefabricated bathrooms are built around an innovative lightweight structure that delivers a range of distinct advantages. The reduced weight enables significantly slimmer structural designs and floor separations compared to traditional, much heavier concrete pods. This creates greater architectural freedom and opens up new design possibilities.

You also have the freedom to work with exclusive materials and finishes. Walls and floors can be clad in large-format tiles (slabs), creating calm, uninterrupted surfaces while minimising maintenance. Explore details and features here.

Although the bathrooms are delivered as complete, prefabricated units, you retain architectural freedom in terms of form, material selection, and detailing.

Bathrooms as an integrated part of the architecture

Whether you are designing a residential building, hotel, student housing or another type of development, we engage in close dialogue on the design and integration of the bathrooms within the overall project.

You gain flexibility in design, material selection and the positioning of technical installations, ensuring the bathrooms support the architectural concept – both aesthetically and functionally.

This enables you to work with distinctive geometries, bespoke solutions and carefully considered material choices, without compromising on function or quality.

Our production process allows for the manufacture of tailored bathroom series aligned with the specific requirements and expression of each project – delivering consistent quality and finish from the first unit to the last.

“We develop prefabricated bathrooms designed to reduce environmental impact by using fewer materials and emitting less CO₂ than traditional solutions – and we continuously work to improve our processes.”

WE HAVE A SHARED RESPONSIBILITY

BATHROOMS WITH A FOCUS ON ENVIRONMENT AND QUALITY

At Green Box, we take a systematic approach to integrating environmental considerations into the development of our prefabricated bathrooms.

Green Box bathrooms are built using a lightweight structure, where only the floor contains a reduced layer of concrete. This lowers material consumption and results in a significantly reduced weight compared to heavier solutions, e.g. traditional concrete pods. Depending on the overall design of a project, this can influence both the building’s total carbon footprint and its use of resources. The low weight of the bathrooms may also impact the overall structural design of the building.

All materials used in the production of Green Box bathrooms are approved for use in Nordic Swan Ecolabelled construction, and the bathrooms can be supplied for projects certified under schemes such as DGNB and BREEAM.

As a standard, our bathrooms have a calculated carbon emission of approximately 2.9 kg CO₂ per m² per year.*

*The calculation is based on standard assumptions and typical usage conditions. Project-specific documentation is available on request.

Documented technical quality

Technical Approval for Use (TGA)

Green Box is the only manufacturer of lightweight, prefabricated bathrooms in Denmark with a Technical Approval for Use (TGA).

The TGA is a voluntary, third-party verified scheme that documents the performance of the bathrooms and outlines their compliance with current Danish building regulations – including requirements for wet rooms.

For you as an architect, this provides a documented basis for design and specification. The TGA supports the integration of prefabricated bathrooms into project documentation with clarity on technical conditions and application.
