NØRREBROGADE

Architects from Aarhus-based CEBRA have designed a new, large-scale housing project that will leave a significant innovative mark on Nørrebrogade in Aarhus. The project comprises around 100 apartments, furnished with prefabricated bathrooms from Green Box.

A TRIBUTE TO THE CITY’S ARCHITECTURAL HERITAGE

The Nørrebrogade project is located on a distinctive plot on the corner of a very busy intersection with one of the major feeder roads into central Aarhus, which also serves as the primary access to the city’s port district, Aarhus Ø.

CEBRA has designed the coming apartment buildings located from the corner of Knudrisgade and up Nørrebrogade. With the new project, the firm of architects will put its clear imprint on the first part of Nørrebrogade with reinterpreted bay windows, multi-storey mansard roofs and a corner building that evokes associations with the Iceberg – one of the most iconic buildings in Aarhus Ø.

The firm of architects itself describes the Nørrebrogade project as a member of a growing family of CEBRA designs in Aarhus, all tributes to the city’s architectural heritage. Other members of that family include Æbeløen and the Willemoesgade project.
