The story from prefab bath to prefabricated bathrooms

The term prefab bath is short for prefabricated bathroom. Prefab baths have gained ground in the construction industry concurrently with an increasing demand for time-saving, efficient and uniform construction of wet rooms. Green Box became part of this development when the company began its journey in 2014 based on a need in the market for prefabricated bathrooms with low installation height and low weight.

Over time, the prefab bath concept has developed through more specific terms such as shower pod and bathroom pod. Thanks to good operational experiences, prefabricated bathrooms have become a regular part of new builds and renovation projects.

Today, prefabricated bathrooms are increasingly often chosen over bathrooms produced on site. The ready-to-install bathrooms can help shorten construction time and ensure consistently high quality. The production of prefabricated bathrooms takes place under controlled conditions with less waste and can therefore also help reduce resource consumption.

Our lightweight design consists of walls and ceilings made from a combination of galvanised steel and Fermacell, while the floor consists of a reduced concrete layer. Elegant destination hotel in Kalmar with 197 prefabricated bathrooms from Green Box, delivered in four different variants—all designed in a bright, modern style.

Helheden, Gellerup

As part of the transformation of the Gellerup area outside Aarhus, two projects, Solhverv and Lysvæld, are being built, comprising both youth housing units and social housing units.

Together, the two projects will be fitted with approximately 400 prefabricated bathrooms from Green Box.
