Scandic bassin seven

In the front row by the water at Basin 7 on Aarhus Ø, construction of the new 19-storey Irmahus, designed by BIG, is well underway. The building will house a new wellness hotel, featuring, among other things, 342 rooms and suites fitted with prefabricated bathrooms from Green Box.

Signature hotel with unique design and a strong identity

Scandic will operate the new hotel, marking the launch of its first signature hotel in Denmark. A signature hotel is characterised by a distinctive design universe, a strong identity, an elevated guest experience, and an individual hotel name. At the same time, the hotel is designed to serve as a natural meeting place for both guests and the local community.

Design and identity run as a common thread throughout the hotel — from the public areas and guest rooms to the prefabricated bathrooms from Green Box, which have been specially designed and produced for the project. The overall design concept has been developed by the Swedish architectural firm Stylt Trampoli AB, with a particular focus on organic forms as well as natural materials and colours.

As an integrated part of the overall design concept, the bathrooms from Green Box have been created in a calm and exclusive style. The look is defined by light-coloured floor and wall tiles with elegant textures, while wood and brass add warmth and character. Glazed wall tiles in a deep dark blue shade bring depth and richness, reinforcing the exclusive identity that helps make the hotel truly distinctive.

NCC is responsible for the construction of the new building, which will also include approximately 16,000 m² of office space for lease. The total development comprises approximately 37,000 m² as well as a two-level basement car park of approximately 8,600 m².

Hotel Bassin Seven is expected to open in the first quarter of 2027.
