Slippen

On the waterfront in Drammen, a former shipyard site is being revitalised. Here, Scandinavian Property Group is developing ‘Slippen’ as a new residential area close to both the fjord and the city. Green Box will supply a total of 208 prefabricated bathrooms to the hotel.

From shipyard to new residential neighbourhood by the fjord

At Tangen in Drammen, the project partners are transforming the old Drammen Slip & Verksted into a new neighbourhood with homes of different sizes near the fjord. ‘Slippen’ will not only feature apartments, but will also be a vibrant residential area with a sandy beach, a swimming pier with year-round sauna, a fjord promenade and outdoor spaces inviting people to socialise.

The architecture is based on the landscape, topography and the surrounding city. The buildings frame green courtyards, providing shelter and tranquillity around the homes while opening up toward the fjord. The result is a residential neighbourhood where light, air and views become a natural part of everyday life, and where the outdoor areas connect the buildings with the water, the promenade, the park and the beach.

Bathrooms as an integral part of housing quality

Green Box supplies prefabricated bathrooms for all stages of the ‘Slippen’ project – a total of 208 bathrooms. The bathrooms will be an integral part of the homes, which feature well-thought-out floor plans, spacious outdoor areas and high-quality materials designed to make everyday life simple and comfortable.

The consistently high standard of the project is also evident in the bathrooms. Here, large floor and wall tiles contribute to a modern, cohesive look, while design choices and optional features allow residents to customise their bathroom. In this way, the prefabricated bathrooms become not only a practical part of the construction project, but also a natural extension of the project’s architectural vision.

Phased development centred around the fjord

The contractor, Betonmast, will build the first phase with 150 flats for Scandinavian Property Group. Together, the parties will develop around 500 homes in several phases. ‘Slippen’ will thus take the form of a large, cohesive residential area, which is growing stage by stage with the fjord as the focal point and with a short distance to the city centre via new path connections and the fjord promenade.

When the project is completed in Q4 2027, the former shipyard area will be transformed into a new waterfront residential area – with architecture, urban spaces and homes that link Drammen closer to the fjord.
