Shower pods

or bathroom pods – at Green Box we simply call them prefabricated bathrooms

In the construction industry, the terms shower pods and bathroom pods are used as a collective term for what we at Green Box call a prefabricated bathroom.

Our bathroom pods are manufactured from start to finish in our own factory in Denmark, they are thoroughly tested and ready for installation on the construction site. The result is a reliable and time-saving bathroom solution that can shorten construction time and ensure uniform quality from day one.

The story behind shower pods and bathroom pods

When Green Box was established in 2014, the market was characterised by a growing need for lightweight and standardised wet room solutions. Inspired by the international concept prefabricated bathroom, we introduced our first bahroom pod with low weight and low installation height. Since then, the use of our bathrooms – also known as shower pods or bathroom pods – has been steadily increasing in both new builds and renovation projects.

The positive operational experience shows that a prefabricated pod can save time on site, reduce the risk of errors and – in some cases – reduce resource consumption, for example by producing under controlled conditions with less material waste.

Why choose prefabricated batrhoom pods from Green Box?

When you choose a bathroom pod from Green Box, you get a complete bathroom unit that is made in Denmark. The pods are designed as a lightweight structure with walls and ceilings made from a combination of galvanised steel and Fermacell. Only the floors contain a reduced layer of concrete.

The structure has a standard weight of only around 325 kg/m², and the installation height can be as low as 95 mm – ideal for projects with special design solutions, limited floor height or minimal load requirements.

At the same time, the calculated carbon footprint is around 3 kg CO₂/m²/year by default*. All materials meet the requirements for use in Nordic Swan Ecolabelled construction projects, and the bathroom pods can be delivered to DGNB-certified projects.

Each pod undergoes digital quality assurance, documenting the whole process from first workstation to delivery, so that you can always track and verify compliance with the specifications.
